Tremors in Balochistan kill three children

Earthquake tremors in Balochistan on Saturday claimed the lives of three children after magnitude 3.5 jolts were felt in the region. According to rescue sources, the tremors were felt in Chaman and Killa Abdullah districts at around 10pm last night. As a result of the earthquake, a portion of a small dwelling in Nai Abadi Balazi area collapsed, killing three children. The children were between the age of 8 and 23 years. Rescue sources said five other people were injured in the incident. Read K-P hardest hit by earthquake Last week, an earthquake jolted areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), Punjab and Balochistan. The quake had a magnitude of 6.8 with its epicentre in Afghanistan, according to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). Reports from different parts of the country said tremors were felt in several cities, including Islamabad, Peshawar, Charsadda, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. Frightened people fled their homes and came out in the open. The United States Geological Survey said that the tremors were also felt in Afghanistan and India for 30 seconds. Ten people, including two women and two children, died in K-P as a result of the earthquake while many were injured and buildings were damaged.
