Sino-Pak ‘Sea Guardian-2023’ war games conclude

The closing ceremony of the Sea Guardian-2023, a bilateral naval exercise conducted in Karachi and the North Arabian Sea between the Pakistan Navy and the Chinese Navy was held at the Pakistan Navy Dockyard on Friday, attended by a large number of officials from both the navies. Six units of Chinese People’s Liberation Army (Navy), including destroyer, frigates, submarine, oil tanker and rescue ship, along with a detachment of the marines participated in the war games, a Pakistan Navy news release said. The exercise included operational manoeuvres, encompassing major facets of the anti-surface, anti-air, mine warfare and special operations in simulated multi-threat environment, to provide optimum training value, the news release added. Read Pak-China naval exercise kicks off Concurrent to the Chinese ships' visit, Qingdao Naval Base Commander Rear Admiral Liang Yang also visited Pakistan. Rear Admiral Liang also held meetings with senior Pakistan Navy officials and discussed with them the matters of bilateral naval collaboration and regional maritime security. “Exercise Sea Guardian-2023 proved mutually rewarding to hone professional skills of the two navies and a forum to learn from each other's experiences,” the news release said. “Regular conduct of bilateral naval exercise is a manifestation of mutual resolve to further enhance bilateral cooperation.”
