A railway employee was killed and a woman commuter injured after a section of the pedestrian bridge collapsed at Khanewal Railway Station on Friday. The bridge segment collapsed in the early hours of the morning. A station employee lost his life in the incident, while a woman suffered a broken leg. Rescue operations were promptly completed, and reconstruction work is set to begin today. Train traffic continues to follow the routine, the PR confirmed. Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi has taken immediate notice of the incident and has suspended three officials for negligence.
