LHC seeks replies on custody of Imran's nephew

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has sought replies from the federal and Punjab governments and Punjab IG on a petition challenging the military custody, military court proceedings and court martial of Hassaan Niazi. A two-member bench comprising Justice Shehram Sarwar Chaudhry and Justice Sardar Ali Akbar Dogar heard a petition filed by Hassaan. During the hearing, the petitioner's counsel argued that after Hassaan's arrest in connection with the May 9 case, he was not produced before a civilian court. Instead, the Sarwar Road police handed him over to military custody without any lawful court order.
